Chiropractor for Algonquin and Lake in the Hills

Looking to reap the many chiropractic benefits you’ve been hearing about? You’re in good hands at Algonquin Chiropractic Center!

JUST THINK: A few weeks from now, you can be healthier, more active, pain-free and enjoying life again!

Of course, if you’ve never experienced the benefits of chiropractic care firsthand, you likely have questions about how your first visit will go. Below, we’ve created a comprehensive breakdown of what you can expect during that first visit.

Your First Visit

During your first visit to Algonquin Chiropractic, you’ll walk into a clean, comfortable office. Here, you’ll be greeted by our warm, friendly staff, who will review and finish up any necessary paperwork with you. They’ll also make copies of any medical records you bring in, so please bring everything you have! We may also request additional records from your providers.

The Consultation

Next, you’ll go into the exam room to have your consultation with Dr. Galante, who will thoroughly discuss your major problem. He’ll ask questions like:

  • When did it start?
  • What caused it?
  • Did you have this problem before?
  • How severe is your pain?
  • How often are you feeling that pain?
  • Is the pain or your other symptoms affecting your sleep?

We’ll also discuss how your problem affects other areas of your life. For example, Dr. Galante will ask how it affects your work and overall quality of life. He’ll also want to know if you’re concerned about your problem interfering with your life in the future. These questions help us better understand what you’re going through and offer insight into how we can help.

The Examination

Your next step will be to have an examination done. This examination will help to visualize your spine and pinpoint the exact cause of your problem. Among other things, we’ll evaluate your posture, foot alignment, range of motion, reflexes, sensations and muscle strength. Of course, we’ll also palate you’re your individual spinal vertebrae and the associated muscles and soft tissue.

If X-rays are necessary, we can do them right in our office. In most situations, we can view the imaging immediately so you can get Dr. Galante’s initial impressions.

For the examination, we ask new patients to put on a gown. Although the gown is only necessary for the first visit, we understand that it makes some people uncomfortable. Please let us know if you feel this way, and we can make other arrangements. Your comfort is our primary concern!

Ending the First Visit

Before ending your first visit, we’ll do something for your pain. This may include E-Stim Therapy, laser therapy and hot or cold packs. We’ll also advise you on how to relieve pain or discomfort at home. Examples of recommendations may include hot or cold packs, different sleep positions, advice on how to get on and off a chair or bed and more.

The doctor will then take the information from your consultation, examination and X-rays. Using this, he’ll put together an individualized treatment plan based on your specific needs.

Day 2

On your second day, you and the doctor will review the “treatment plan.” We call this the “Report of Findings.”

This is your day to discover the root cause of your problems and whether we can help. Whether you realize it or not, your visit to a chiropractor’s office should answer four questions:

  1. What is the root cause of my problems?
  2. Can chiropractic care at Algonquin Chiropractic help me?
  3. What do we need to do to correct my problem, and how long will it take?
  4. What does my insurance cover and how much does the individualized chiropractic care plan cost to fix my problem?

We’ll answer those questions on your second day. Why the second day? For you to reap the most chiropractic benefits, we must first thoroughly review all of our findings, including your consultation, exam findings and imaging. Plus, we may be requesting records from previous providers and need to wait on those.

We’ll go over our detailed findings, diagnosis, individualized treatment plan and insurance benefits BEFORE you start treatment.

Is Chiropractic Care Safe?

When you talk to people about chiropractic benefits, you’ll hear all kinds of opinions. Friends, neighbors, coworkers, orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons and even your medical doctor will all give you different opinions. Some of them may even tell you that it’s not safe and that there are no chiropractic benefits. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Chiropractic care has been shown to be extremely safe. In our practice, we’ve treated patients as young as two months and as old as 90 – as well as pretty much every age between. In fact, chiropractors have some of the lowest malpractice insurance rates of any healthcare provider. Not only is it safe, but there are numerous chiropractic benefits patients of all ages and walks of life can expect to receive.

Professional Athletes Reap Chiropractic Benefits

Professional athletes wouldn’t use chiropractic care to treat injuries and improve performance if it weren't safe and beneficial. Just a few examples of professional athletes who rely on chiropractic benefits to keep their bodies in optimal shape include:

  • Michael Jordan
  • Joe Montana
  • Derrick Rose
  • Scottie Pippen
  • Tom Brady
  • Wade Boggs
  • Evander Holyfield
  • Tiger Woods
  • Jerry Rice
  • Jonathan Toews
  • Sidney Crosby

This is far from a comprehensive list. Countless other professional, college, high school and weekend athletes use chiropractic care to prevent injuries and perform their best.

Plus, the respected Mayo Clinic also stands behind chiropractic care. They stated, “Chiropractic adjustment is safe when it’s performed by someone trained and licensed to deliver chiropractic care.”

Your safety is our top concern. We would never do anything to put you in harm’s way!

Studies Proving the Safety of Chiropractic Care

Studies were done in February of 2022 and January of 2023 to determine the safety of chiropractic care. These two studies tracked over 3.5 million spinal adjustments and found ZERO severe adverse events. That’s right – not a single severe adverse event. This is yet another example that chiropractic care is VERY safe.

Spine, a prestigious journal, followed more than 6.6 million people who collectively received over 24 million spinal manipulations. They reported that there was “no mechanism by which spinal manipulation-induced injury has been identified.” Again, no serious or permanent injuries were reported.

How Much is This Going to Cost Me?

It’s no secret that health insurance companies don’t cover services like they used to. Today, people are charged higher deductibles, co-pays, and are limited services with per-diems. Plus, they have stricter dollar and visit limits, paired with a long list of non-covered services. The list goes on, but we’ll digress!

All these restrictions and costs mean using your healthcare dollars wisely is more crucial than ever.  If you have a problem, you want it taken care of in a reasonable amount of time. Most importantly, you don’t want it to cost an arm and a leg! That’s what we do for you at Algonquin Chiropractic Center!

Insurances

We take all major insurances, including:

  • BlueCross BlueShield
  • United Healthcare
  • Aetna
  • Cigna
  • First Health
  • All Savers
  • UMR
  • Golden Rule
  • Meritain

We also take Medicare! Plus, if you were injured in a car accident or work injury, your services may be covered at 100%!

No insurance? No problem! We have affordable fees for patients without insurance as well.

Typical Fees

Your first visit fees may include a consultation, examination and any necessary X-rays. The price can range from $87 to $259 or more if additional X-ray views are required. These are the clinic charges, so your costs may be significantly less if you have insurance.

These fees are much less than alternative options charge!

For your reference, every 30-minute physical therapy session is usually around $300 to $400, while monthly pain medications can cost hundreds. A single shot from a pain management doctor can be over $1,000 on top of the exam and MRI! Of course, spinal surgery can cost anywhere from $25,000 to $100,000!

Chiropractic care has repeatedly been shown to be the most cost-effective form of care for certain spinal conditions. What does this mean? It means you get better faster with longer-lasting results at the lowest price with chiropractic benefits. Isn’t that what you want?

What Chiropractic Benefits Can I Expect?

If we don’t feel like we can honestly improve the quality of your life through chiropractic benefits, we won’t accept you as a patient in our clinic. If we accept you as a patient, you can rest assured there is a VERY good chance you’ll be much better in the weeks, months and years ahead!

The European Spine Journal and the British Medical Journal have published research concluding that chiropractors get people better faster, with longer-lasting relief.

Additionally, Topics in Clinical Chiropractic showed a 91% success rate in 90 days with just one of the techniques we use.
